About This Project

We have been working with a busy local building business on completing tenders for over 3 years through our sister company Bid & Tender Support Ltd. Their CHAS accreditation was coming up for renewal and as they had very little time to take on any extra administration duties, they approached KCS Compliance Services to help them. As we had a number of documents already from the tender work we were able to gather the remaining documents from them and populate the CHAS portal.

 

CHAS (The Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) is a preapproved scheme which allows contractors to demonstrate to potential clients that they meet the required health & safety standards.

The purpose of CHAS certification is to assist buyers as well as suppliers in the process of health and safety competence assessment. Being CHAS certified minimises duplication as prospective clients accept the compliance of the supplier. This can save a company hours of form filling for Health and Safety purposes with many different customers. It makes it easy for potential clients to gain an insight into your working standards too, in terms of health and safety. Some buyers may require the suppliers to be CHAS certified or accredited before allowing a tender to be submitted or works to commence on site, so having one can certainly help win new business especially when working in the Public Sector.

Following completion of the CHAS portal and submission to the assessors on behalf of our client, they received confirmation within a week of their submission that their CHAS accreditation had been successfully renewed.
