04 Aug New HSE video: Improving ventilation in the workplace
The HSE has updated its guidance to help business owners and staff identify poor ventilation in work areas and take practical steps to improve it. This is important as having good ventilation can help reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading in your workplace.
The law states that employers must make sure there’s an adequate supply of fresh air (ventilation) in enclosed areas of the workplace. This has not changed during the pandemic,
but, over the last year, we have become more aware of its importance in our daily working life.
The HSE has produced a video giving basic advice on how you can use ventilation to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in your workplace.
The updated guidance includes information on:
- identifying poorly ventilated areas and using CO2 monitors
- improving natural ventilation
- how to improve mechanical ventilation
- air cleaning and filtration units
- ventilation in work vehicles
